Matchbook is invitation only. We keep what we need to plan a night. We do not build a public profile from it.
Effective September 21, 2026.
What this is
Matchbook is an invitation-only date planner for Charleston. Someone you already met in person can invite you to plan one night together. There is no public dating feed, no open signup, and no marketplace of strangers.
Matchbook is not a dating app. It is not lead generation. If you do not have a planner seat or an invite link, there is nothing to browse.
Who operates it
Brett Cunningham operates Matchbook. The site is matchbook.date. Questions go to hello@matchbook.date.
What we collect
Phone numbers. A planner enters their own US mobile on the login page to request a verification code. A guest may do the same on an invite link. When a planner creates a date, they enter the guest’s US mobile. We send one invite text when they send the invitation.
Profile and date answers. Names, photos you upload, where you met, what you want from the night, budget, notes, and the cards a guest answers so we can plan.
Invite links and tokens. The unique door we text, and whether it was opened.
Basic device and log data we need to run the service — for example, that a page loaded, that a code was requested, or that a link failed.
How we use it
To plan the night for the two people on that date.
To send transactional SMS only: login verification codes when you request them, and one-time date invites when a planner creates an invite with a guest’s number.
To keep the doors working — sessions, invite links, and basic security.
We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
Texts and your number
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Verification codes when you request them. Invite texts when someone you already met creates a Matchbook invite with your number. Frequency varies.
Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out of Matchbook texts. Reply HELP for help.
Who else sees it
We use a small set of services to run Matchbook. Twilio delivers verification codes and invite texts. Hosting keeps the site up. They process information only to provide those services.
We do not sell your information. We do not hand your number to affiliates for their campaigns.
A planner sees the date they created. A guest sees the invite and the night that belongs to them. Special-things lists stay on the planner’s desk. She never sees those.
How long we keep it
We keep a date, a profile, and the phone numbers on them as long as we need to run that invite and plan the night, and for a reasonable time after for security and support. Email us if you want what we hold deleted.
